Turning a dragon brief into a usable identity

Echo competes at the highest level of World of Warcraft raiding and needed an identity that could extend across competition, content, partnerships, and apparel.

Challenge

The guild leadership wanted a dragon at the center of the logo. The challenge was to make that familiar symbol distinctive enough to work as both an emblem and a flexible media identity.

Defining the mark, texture, color, and type

I developed the dragon emblem, then expanded it into a custom skin texture, color system, typography, usage rules, and practical templates for the team's communication needs.

Design decisions

The circular dragon silhouette stays recognizable at small sizes, while the red, black, and off-white palette creates enough contrast for both competitive and sponsor-led layouts.

Constraints

The system needed to hold together across small avatars, presentation decks, jerseys, stream graphics, sponsor placements, and dark broadcast environments.

Identity applications for content and partnerships

A compact red dragon mark supported by a dark tactile texture and a clear identity guide, then applied across presentations, apparel direction, partner graphics, and stream assets.

Outcome

The identity carried through guild branding, partnership materials, apparel direction, and live content.

Reflection

A single emblem grew into a repeatable system across identity, apparel, presentations, and broadcast assets.
