An identity for an addon and desktop companion

WeakAuras is a World of Warcraft addon that provides a framework for displaying customizable on-screen graphics.

Challenge

The creator wanted a clean, minimal logo that felt connected to the addon and its audience.

Sketching a simple, lasting symbol

I began with sketches and moved through several rounds before arriving at the final mark.

Design decisions

The mark was kept minimal and geometric to connect the initials directly to the product while supporting long-term recognition across small interface surfaces.

Constraints

The identity needed to translate across the addon, an in-game interface, a desktop companion, and Windows and macOS application icons.

Identity and interface applications

A futuristic, minimal logo using sharp lines to form the W+A acronym, supported by an application icon set and interface design assistance.

Outcome

The identity supports a widely used World of Warcraft addon, its application icons, and its desktop companion.

Reflection

A compact mark gave the addon, its icons, and the desktop companion a shared identity.
